Mental health = Food security
So many of us, adults & youth alike, don’t fully understand where our food comes from, how long it takes to grow, and the working hands behind even a single piece of produce. Access to fresh foods is also scarce in some of our communities. For many, these are reasons as to why they may not be consuming balanced diets which are so important for our physical and mental health!
Lele’s Project is highlighting this workshop provided by Gwinnett Harvest to encourage our community to get hands-on with our food. We hope to promote this local garden and inspire people to get serious about the foods they consume, purchasing locally grown foods, and even consider donating to local food cooperatives.
In this workshop we will get our hands dirty, understand the basics of planting, and also harvest fresh produce that will be donated to a local food cooperative feeding families in need! We hope that being able to see the full cycle of fresh food will be such an eye opening and fun experience for all.
